Job summary
ARE YOU a highly motivated, organised and flexible receptionist/administrator? If so, we are looking for a full time or part time Band 2 Receptionist to be based at Dental department Letchworth Health Centre

The Special Care Dental Service in Hertfordshire is an award winning NHS service who pride themselves on providing outstanding care for vulnerable people. Come and join our supportive and inclusive team.

Main duties of the job
Applicants must have good organisational skills, a range of office skills and experience in working in reception/administration. Warmth and empathy are important as you will have both face to face and telephone contact with vulnerable service users on a daily basis. Good written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills, a friendly approach and being enthusiastic are all required for this post. A knowledge of dental software would be an advantage but not essential as training will be provided.

A full valid driving licence and access to a car to use regularly for business purposes is essential (unless you have a disability as defined by the Equality Act 2010).

Person specification

Education

Essential

  • GCSE English and Maths or equivalent qualification grade C and above

Experience

Essential

  • Experience working in an office environment
  • Basic IT knowledge and experience including carrying out basic internet navigation
  • Experience of data entry or diary use
  • Basic knowledge of and experience of using Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Outlook

Desirable

  • experience of working with special care patients
  • experience of working as a receptionist in a health care setting

Skills

Essential

  • Good organisational skills
  • Ability to organise and maintain clinical office space.
  • Ability to cope with a busy working environment
  • Able to work on own initiative and as part of a team
  • Good communication skills (written and verbal)

  • Hold a full, valid, UK driving licence and have access to a car to use for business purposes (unless you have a disability as defined by the Equality Act 2010)
